You’ll get no grief from this town for being a rebel
But they’ll probably get you on a federal level
They’ll put you in prison and brand you a felon
And you’ll get the death penalty as a lesson
And I’m guessing that you’ll never get into heaven
If I was you I’d be counting my blessings
I strongly believe in a matter of time
You’ll find what you need in the back of your mind
But what do you need?
What is it you seek
to set you at ease
and to help you feel peace?
You need to be free
Really pleased and complete
With that look in your eye
So become colorized
Because you’re too much like an old black and white TV
Well I’d normally say that bridges freeze first
But in your case they’re burning and that’s not the worst
What should be respected you treat just like dirt
You should learn that your friends don’t deserve to be hurt
So perk up your ears keep your senses alert
Or you’ll be left dead with your reflexes burnt
I strongly believe in a matter of time
You’ll find what you need in the back of your mind
But what do you need?
What is it you seek
to set you at ease
and to help you feel peace?
You need to be free
Really pleased and complete
With that look in your eye
So become colorized
Because you’re too much like an old black and white TV
It’s snowing in town tonight, it’s coming down
I’m going to sleep while you’re running around
Looking within is not about being out
It’s about putting down what you can’t live without
So give me a shout if you need helping out
I’ll get off the couch and I’ll come plow you out
I strongly believe in a matter of time
You’ll find what you need in the back of your mind
But what do you need?
What is it you seek
to set you at ease
and to help you feel peace?
You need to be free
Really pleased and complete
With that look in your eye
So become colorized
Because you’re too much like an old black and white TV
